(a speech from Comrade Jasiri)

Victory! The taste. The smell. The feeling. They’ve all felt great. The whole aura surrounding the victory was mesmerizing. I’ve been in awe for two weeks, relishing in the spirit of the winning. Now it’s time to keep the momentum going.

This victory couldn’t have been possible without the People. You’ve showed the true meaning behind “Power to the People.” You, the people, have the power to change anything the people want to change.

How can the fascist government stand up to the people if the people stay united? They can’t! So as long as the people stay united, motivated, and keep the spirit of this movement alive, then our agenda will be met.

You have showed the world the meaning of solidarity, the meaning of pride, the meaning of dignity. You have showed the world the meaning of inner-communalism.

The community has power to control the community. If the community unites and says, “Stop the violence,” then the violence will decrease and eventually stop. If the community unites and says, “No more murders! No more death penalty!” then the fascist government will abolish the death penalty!

It’s more than talk! The people showed that it takes more than advocacy, it takes implementation of the advocacy. We’ve showed that we have a body and are not scared to place that body in the line of fire. We’ve shown that this body can get bigger. We’ve shown that this body will get bigger. This body will expand worldwide until this atrocious procedure is abolished.

The people took love, spirit, belief, dignity, and pride, brought it together, and stood up for what we believed was right. Not once did you stumble. Not one of you backed down. We knew the consequences. But did any of us give up? No! We were standing for something we believed in. Standing for someone we love. Standing for something that’s right!

On behalf of the inner-comrades, I want to thank the world for the solidarity it’s shown. We’ve all tasted the new drug – Victory! It’s addicting! I want more. We want more. We want so much victory that we overdose. Our tolerance is high but it can happen if we keep fighting for victory.

I want to congratulate the Foster family! This was a long time coming. 11 years! The comrades are very happy you finally got to hug and kiss Kenneth. You are the heart of the victory. The people rallied around you and stayed united because you kept us united. If you need anything, know that the comrades are here for you. You’re family! You’re comrades!

I personally want to congratulate my niece, our daughter, Nydesha Foster! She has the spirit of Assata, Angelou, Davis, and the heart of a lioness. She didn’t back down from anything that was thrown her way. She has shown that there’s a new spirit in our youth. Our youth are NOT going to be subjected to the brainwashing, the lies, the propaganda that’s fed to them. This is a more conscious generation and Nydesha is a prime example.

I want to congratulate my brother, Kenneth Foster. You are one of the founding fathers of this movement. You introduced me to this struggle, now you’ve given this movement the jolt it needed to succeed. Soon we’ll be together and we’ll get to hug! I love you Brother! Congratulations!

Again, I want to thank the people. The power of the people. It’s time to keep the wheels moving, time to keep the boat afloat.
