TO THE 3RD DEGREE

let it be known that

it's a

spark in the prairie

spreading

very slowly but surely

catching the embers &

members of the

mundane.

the flame is igniting

inspirational insights

to blueprinted battles

that go to either

ji jaga or assata.

it's gonna be

one or the other.

iron claws try to smother

the heat,

but like Gloria Anzaldua said-

"change requires great heat.

we must turn the heat on ourselves,

the first site of working toward

social justice and transformation."

translation:

i'm a flamethrower

camouflaged in

prison whites

trying to ignite

some fight in

surrendered humans &

potential revolutionaries.

hot coals glow in my soul!

fire's my attire!

heat's in my feet!

flame's the name!

melt down the complacency,

build the chain

to solidarity links

unbreakable

even when they drop bombs

on our homes & domes.

let's swirl w/ the smoke,

be SOS signals

ascending to the skies.

just look at the awe in the eyes

of those beautiful babies

looking up to us.

i'm here to

let it be known that

it's a

spark in the prairie

spreading

and it's a flame that's

inextinguishable

!
