AN URGENT CALL FOR MAJOR ASSISTANCE FROM

THE ATTEMPTED JUDICIAL MURDER OF BROTHER KENNETH "HARAMIA KI-NASSOR" FOSTER

3 days after an act of insurgency against the oppressive administration, still burning from being gassed protesting against the death penalty and inhumane conditions on Texas death row, I received a message from my brother and comrade Haramia Ki-Nassor telling me the Fifth Circuit court of gavel-totting murders denied his appeal for freedom for a crime he never committed: HE IS INNOCENT!

I wished that I wasn't sitting on a cold steel cage freezing and burning at the same time, combating state-sanctioned murder and oppression. I wish that that excruciating message wouldn't have been true, that I'd wake up from the nightmare to find Haramia and me at home with our families knowing it was just a bad dream. That I'd call him and his wife Tasha would answer the phone telling me they're rocking new born little Haramia Jr. to sleep. But I couldn't, I had to endure that soul-cutting blow of reality. Damn!

I met Haramia over 10 years ago, and from unconscious, self-destructive immature boys we grew up, shed the false sense of manhood and become conscious mature and progressive men and servants for ourselves, our communities and humanity. It is because of Haramia that I spiritually, politically, socially and culturally educated myself and was able to transform my life into the better. It was his brotherly love that kept me when I wanted to give up on myself. I am only one of many who he has inspired.

That said, I think it's very important that "our" struggle recognizes the contributions of brother Haramia to the movement. For me it's a must that the love and respect for his principled sacrifices be demonstrated now. As a movement many of us have fallen short in showing the proper appreciation for our elders, leaders and soldiers.

It could be assumed that this particular weakness in our struggle would weaken the resolve of our "freedom fighters". Haramia's life example resists that conclusion. In fact our movement has produced the caliber of selfless-principled comrades any movement would be proud to embrace.

We must continue to build worldwide support for this great man and brother whom would be too much of a loss for humanity. This attempted judicial assassination on Haramia is not because he's guilty of this crime. He is innocent. This retaliation from the courts is an attempt to eradicate the great asset Haramia has become to the struggle and the fear his love and strength and dedication for all oppressed people strike in the oppressors’ heart.

The most revealing impact of our movement's failure to put out political prisoners and prisoners of war into the minds' eye of the masses, has been the lack of development of the correct practice, which could have been gained from analysis of our past victories and errors. It's from this perspective that brother Haramia's example of commitment and practices on many levels demands recognition.

Brother Haramia has demonstrated a basic instinct of the protracted nature of our struggle, and an awareness of the sacrifices which have and are being made, and patience with the people’s sluggish response. With these realities, he has never retreated from what knowledge of his oppression demands of us. His love for the people and principles make him a comrade of the highest order. It's one thing to respect someone from a distance and another to feel the warmth in his handshake, smell the breath of one's comfort with themselves and others, see the fire in their eyes reflecting the burning in the belly and the heat from the spirit in our hearts.

What can I say to Haramia? It's impossible to express how much he means to me and to so many people. It's not enough to speak of his kindness. It's not enough to speak of his fierce yet gentle quiet strength. He has given so much to me and to our struggle that the few material goods that he has possessed in this world he has shared with generous warmth. He has taught me and so many people, and touched many more.

Haramia has served as a role model and an example for me and many people both inside and outside. The US Government has made every effort to humiliate him yet he has remained the embodiment of human dignity. The government has made every effort to demonize him, yet he has evolved as a respected principled servant of the struggle, and a leader.

They have called him a thug, hoodlum, and other names that don't apply, but we know he is a freedom fighter. They have branded him a killer (though he is innocent and never killed anyone) but we know that killer prosecutors and judges plotted and continue to plot to judicial assassinate him and us all.

It is a known fact that Haramia did not kill anyone, did not commit any of this crime. We know and have not forgotten how the mass media controlled by the same government that wants to murder Haramia was used to elaborate a fictionalized, scandalized libelous version of his case for the sole purpose of manipulating public opinion and insuring his wrongful conviction.

A beautiful fighter for the people he has struggled for years.

Today he faces the possibility of state-sanctioned murder. It is crucial that brace combatants like Haramia not be forgotten or marginalized. My hope and prayer is that all who can come together do so on this great man, brother and father's plight for freedom so he may be reunited with his family and continue his great works. His loss would be an abomination to humanity, to us all.

LET'S NOT LET THAT HAPPENS.

I am honored to have a friend, comrade and brother like him. He is what a friend, comrade and brother should be. May the fruits of our sacrifices bring into fruition a better world. And Haramia's freedom.
